Robert J. Randisi
(J.R. Roberts) is an American author who writes in the Detective and Western genres. He has authored more than 500 published books and has edited more than 30 anthologies of short stories. Booklist
magazine said he "may be the last of the pulp writers."
He co-founded and edited Mystery Scene
magazine and co-founded the American Crime Writers League. He founded The Private Eye Writers of America in 1981, where he created the Shamus Award.

Randisi is the creator and author of the long-running series THE GUNSMITH, which has currently passed 400 books as it continues to be published monthly. He is also the creator and author of the TRACKER, ANGEL EYES, and MOUNTAIN JACK PIKE series. His novel CROW BAIT, the fifth to feature his series character “Lancaster,” currently has 77 customer reviews on Amazon, where it spent time on their Top Ten Western list. CROW BAIT, and the 3 books in the SONS OF DANIEL SHAYE series, have been his best-selling Western novels to date, along with the Gunsmith series. In all, he has written more than 640 books in the western, mystery, private eye, spy and men’s adventure genres. He is the co-founder of the Western Fictioneers, and co-founder of the Peacemaker Award.
His new adult Western series LADY GUNSMITH first appeared in March of 2017 with Book #1 THE LEGEND OF ROXY DOYLE. Book #2 THE THREE GRAVES OF ROXY DOYLE, will appear later in 2017. Books will then begin to be published every 3 months.
